Strahan Arena at the University Events Center was completed in 1982 for both the men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the volleyball team. The venue is located on the corner of Charles Austin Drive and Aquarena Springs Drive at the base of the Loop 82 overpass leading into main campus at Texas State University.
Construction on the facility started in November 1979. Renovations to the facility making it a University Events Center were completed in 2018 as part of a $60 million plus renovation which includes a spacious premium hospitality room known as the Richard A. Castro Legacy Club, sparkling new coaches offices for basketball, volleyball, tennis, golf, soccer, baseball and softball, and meeting spaces. The UEC also has new academic areas, team meeting rooms, locker rooms, and a new display space for the Texas State "T" Association Hall of Honor.
