LOVB is proud to report that nine LOVB Pro athletes have punched their ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games this summer.
Nine LOVB Pro athletes earned spots on the incredibly talented, 12-person Team USA roster, eight of whom won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Annie Drews, Jordan Larson, Chiaka Ogbogu, Jordyn Poulter, Kelsey Robinson Cook, Jordan Thompson, Haleigh Washington and Justine Wong-Orantes. LOVB Madison founding athlete Lauren Carlini will join these eight gold medalists on the team in what will be her Olympic debut.
“We are incredibly proud to have so many LOVB athletes representing Team USA at the Olympic Games this summer,” said LOVB Director of Sport Tom Hogan. “The entire LOVB community will be cheering them on as they seek to repeat their gold medal performance from Tokyo. Having such a significant portion of Team USA made up of LOVB players is a strong testament to the talent level that will grace our gyms across the USA this winter. We can’t wait for our fans to see these inspiring players compete on home soil when our inaugural season first serve happens in January 2025.”
Two LOVB athletes were also named as Team USA’s alternates for the 2024 Olympics: 2020 gold medalist Micha Hancock and Anna Stevenson Hall.
The 2024 U.S. Olympic Team also includes two athletes who are LOVB Club alumnae - Kathryn Plummer grew up playing at Tstreet Volleyball Club in Irvine, Calif., and Avery Skinner is a graduate of Houston Skyline Volleyball.
