After performances worthy of Player of the Match designation during week three, LOVB Salt Lake opposite hitter Skylar Fields and LOVB Atlanta libero Piyanut Pannoy have been named League One Volleyball’s Players of the Week.
Offensive Player of the Week: Skylar Fields
Skylar powered Salt Lake to victory during its First Serve match January 22 against LOVB Houston, landing 17 kills on a .385 hitting percentage. The Missouri City, Texas, native added one block for 18 total points, and she made seven digs with a perfect dig percentage. She’s currently second on the team in total points (52) and total kills (48) on the year.
Defensive Player of the Week: Piyanut Pannoy
Piyanut was everywhere in the backcourt for Atlanta January 25 against LOVB Madison as she made 21 digs (4.2 per set), helping Atlanta outlast Madison in five sets. Her 91% dig percentage means that she successfully passed 21 of the 23 attack attempts that came near her. The Thai National Team captain also added three assists on the night and made 12 in-system passes.
So far in 2025, Piyanut leads the league with a 60.5% good pass percentage (the percentage of passes that are rated either 3 or 4 on a four-point scale) and is third in pass efficiency (average rating of all passes; 2.661) and digs per set (4.889).
Week Four of LOVB’s inaugural pro season begins Wednesday, January 28, when LOVB Madison hosts LOVB Houston at 7 p.m. Central. On Friday, LOVB Atlanta welcomes LOVB Salt Lake in a rematch of the league’s First Serve, and Salt Lake will face LOVB Austin while Omaha plays Atlanta on Saturday, February 1, to round out Weekend with LOVB.
