More international talent is joining LOVB Atlanta as Polish middle blocker Iga Wasilewska has signed to play in League One Volleyball.
A native of Warsaw, Poland, Iga has played professionally since 2011 in both Poland and Italy. She’s claimed 14 domestic titles in her native Poland, including four Tauron Liga championships with Grupa Azoty Chemik Police, where she’s played since 2018. Iga also led Chemik Police to four Champions League berths and earned Best Spiker honors during the 2020 CEV Cup.
In addition to her domestic success, Iga also has international experience. She debuted with the Polish U20 team in 2010, and a year later, she led the U18 team to fourth-place finishes at the U19 World Championships and European Youth Olympic Festival. In 2021, competed at the Volleyball Nations League with Poland’s senior national team.
Iga is LOVB’s first Polish athlete, joining 28 other international players from 17 countries. She’ll compete with LOVB Atlanta when play begins January 8, 2025.
