LOVB Atlanta Volleyball finalized its coaching staff for the upcoming 2026 season THURSDAY, announcing the hiring of Giuliano Ribas, Kalene Romero and Steve Wilcosky.
Giuliano comes to Atlanta after one year as assistant coach with LOVB Madison. He helped the squad finish third in the League One Volleyball standings and win seven consecutive regular season matches. Known as Juba, Giuliano has also been on staff with the Brazilian Men’s National Team since 2010 and led the squad to two Olympic medals, including gold in front of a hometown crowd at 2016 Rio.
Juba joins LOVB Atlanta as assistant coach; League One Volleyball has allowed teams a second assistant coach ahead of the league’s second season.
Having been with LOVB Atlanta since before the inaugural season, Kalene has been promoted to Director of Volleyball Operations and oversees team operations, travel and logistics, and athlete experience. She’s spent more than a decade in sports, events and brand partnerships and is passionate about advancing women’s sports, elevating athlete platforms and ensuring that LOVB Atlanta runs seamlessly on and off the court.
Steve is also returning for year two as LOVB ATL’s Technical Coordinator. In 2025, he participated in LOVB’s Coach Enrichment Program before stepping in as an interim assistant and brings over 20 years experience in college athletics as both a coach and administrator. Steve is also Director of Tournaments for LOVB Atlanta affiliate club A5 Volleyball and A5 Gwinnett’s Facilities Director.
Juba, Kalene and Steve join head coach Paulo Coco and assistant coach Yoko Zetterlund, who led LOVB Atlanta to a 13-3 regular season record and the No. 1 seed at the LOVB Finals during 2025.
