The LOVB Salt Lake Volleyball staff is complete!
League One Volleyball announced Tuesday that Bruno Chateau and Kolin Koski will join the LOVB Salt Lake staff. Bruno will serve as assistant coach, and Kolin will be the team’s Director of Volleyball Operations/Technical Director.
The two join head coach Tama Miyashiro in leading LOVB Omaha during the inaugural LOVB Pro season.
Bruno played professionally in his native France for 12 years. He won the French league in both 2006 and 2007 and represented the country during the 1995 FIVB Boys U18 World Championship. As a coach, he served as an assistant on the French Women’s Junior National Team before moving to the United States and coaching collegiately. In 2022, he returned to the international level and has assisted the Japanese Men’s National Team since.
"I can't envision anything better than being a part of LOVB,” Bruno said. “It will be more than we could ever imagine. I'm ready to give my best for the league, my team and all the fans who support us."
“I’m excited to kick off this season with Bruno on staff,” Tama said of her new assistant. “His energy, passion and experience coaching at various levels will be a great asset to our team. I really admire his work ethic, his attention to detail and his drive to help players improve their game and can’t wait to get started.”
As Director of Volleyball Operations (DOVO), Kolin will work directly with LOVB Salt Lake Volleyball’s coaches, athletes and support staff to ensure the best experience for all. He will also work closely with Club 801 and Club V Sports – LOVB Salt Lake’s junior club affiliate – to facilitate clinics, instruction and other interactions between the pro and junior athletes.
Kolin arrives in Salt Lake with plenty of experience in volleyball operations. He served as team manager at the University of Washington during his undergraduate years, and he spent an additional season as the squad’s DOVO graduate assistant. Additionally, Kolin coached UW’s club volleyball team and has further coaching experience through Sudden Impact Volleyball Club in Bellevue, Washington.
"I am elated to join LOVB Salt Lake, drawn by its leadership personnel, inspiring mission and authentic core values,” Kolin said. “This opportunity aligns perfectly with my aspirations, and I am eager to contribute to the groundbreaking pathway to professional volleyball that League One is creating for women around the world."
“Kolin is prepared to jump right into this role,” Kelley Kish, LOVB’s Head of Pro Volleyball Operations said. “We know that the hands-on experience in volleyball operations and team management will allow for a seamless transition to working alongside the athletes and coaches of LOVB Salt Lake. Kolin’s positive approach and in-depth understanding of the operational intricacies within a high-level collegiate program will elevate LOVB Salt Lake.”
LOVB Salt Lake will compete in the first LOVB Pro match January 8, 2025, at LOVB Atlanta. Training camp for all six Pro teams begins in November 2024.
