HOUSTON (November. 16, 2024) – Memorial Hermann Health System has been named the official medical provider of League One Volleyball’s (LOVB) professional women’s team, LOVB Houston Volleyball. LOVB (pronounced “love”) is the largest brand in youth volleyball, and its professional league will be launching its first serve on January 8, 2025. As part of this partnership, Memorial Hermann’s logo will be recognized on the front of the pro team’s jerseys.
“We are incredibly honored that LOVB Houston has entrusted Memorial Hermann with their medical care moving forward,” said Timothy Couture, vice president of the Orthopedic Service Line at Memorial Hermann Health System. “Memorial Hermann | Rockets Orthopedics’ team of affiliated physicians, orthopedic surgeons, therapists and trainers will be providing these athletes with high-quality care to help them perform at peak levels. We are beyond excited to welcome the team to Houston.”
LOVB is launching its pro league with six teams to start in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Madison, Omaha and Salt Lake, and will feature some of the very best players in the world, including the American silver medalists from the recent Olympics.
LOVB Houston Volleyball is anchored by Micha Hancock and Jordan Thompson, both 2x Olympic Medalists and US National Team players. Both players have also been instrumental members of the LOVB Athlete’s Council, which is helping to ensure that the benefits and opportunities the league provides its athletes both on-and-off the court foster advancement and support of LOVB Pro athletes in their post-playing careers.

As part of the partnership with LOVB, Memorial Hermann Health System will align with LOVB on social activations and LOVB Club community events, and will share their insights and expertise on a variety of volleyball injury prevention topics through educational content.
