The LOVB Omaha Volleyball staff is complete!
League One Volleyball announced Tuesday that Remi Pourrat and Korie Lebada Tetzlaff will join the LOVB Omaha staff. Remi will serve as assistant coach, and Korie will be the team’s Director of Volleyball Operations/Technical Director.
The two join head coach Suzie Fritz in leading LOVB Omaha during the inaugural LOVB Pro season.
Remi’s done it all along the sideline of a volleyball court, coaching at the international, collegiate and club levels. He’s worked with three international teams – the U.S. and German Women’s National Teams, and the French Men’s – and also helped French pro club ESCR Volleyball win the French Cup and finish second in league play during the 2014-15 season. Since moving to the States, Remi’s coached collegiately at Long Beach City College, Long Beach State, University of Portland and Nebraska, where he helped the Cornhuskers reach the championship match in 2021.
At the junior level, Remi leads technical training and recruiting for LOVB clubs Athena and Ajax in the Portland, Oregon, area. He also coaches for both clubs and has won junior-level national titles with Athena, Team Rockstar in California and AS Cannes in France.
“I am so excited to join a league that intends to better the experience of every athlete, especially female athletes,” Remi said. “I’m extremely grateful to be part of this amazing project, and I hope to be able to help grow the sport with LOVB. I can't wait to learn from Suzie and compete by her side with this great group of athletes."
“Remi is a well-respected professional at all levels of volleyball: club, collegiate and international,” Suzie said of her new assistant. “During his career, he’s been in some of the best gyms in the world, learning and developing his coaching leadership and volleyball philosophy. Remi approaches his coaching methods with intention, knowledge and most importantly, love. I’m looking forward to working alongside him and the impact that he will have on the women of LOVB Omaha.”
As Director of Volleyball Operations (DOVO), Korie will work directly with LOVB Omaha Volleyball’s coaches, athletes and support staff to ensure the best experience for all. She will also work closely with Premier Nebraska – LOVB Omaha’s junior club affiliate – to facilitate clinics, instruction and other interactions between the pro and junior athletes.
Korie returns to Omaha after a stellar playing career at Creighton University, where she set match, season and career records in assists and was inducted into Creighton’s athletics hall of fame in 2014. She played professionally in Spain and the U.S. from 2010-18 while also beginning an 18-year coaching career at the club, high school and collegiate levels. In 2021, she helped coach Iowa Western Community College to a junior college national title.
"Words cannot fully express my excitement about this opportunity with LOVB Omaha, my hometown,” Korie said. “The alignment of values and mission here are nothing short of remarkable, and I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of it. The future of women, women's sports and professional volleyball is unfolding. I can't wait to get started, and to see all that the LOVB community will do."
“Korie’s drive to positively impact our sport in Omaha is unmatched,” Kelley Kish, LOVB’s Head of Pro Volleyball Operations said. “As a proven winner in the collegiate and professional world, coupled with her club experience, Korie brings so much to all the different facets of this role. We are excited to have Korie work alongside the LOVB Omaha coaches and players for operations and beyond.”
LOVB Omaha will debut January 10, 2025, with a match at LOVB Houston as part of the first Weekend with LOVB. Training camp for all six LOVB Pro squads begins in November 2024.
