LOVB is celebrating its 50th club signing with the addition of New England’s SMASH Volleyball. Founded in 1989 by Judy Slamin and Richard Barton, SMASH quickly made an impact in the area for girls volleyball. In recent years, SMASH has expanded into the boys volleyball and beach volleyball markets, solidifying itself as a volleyball leader in New England.
Club director, Lucas Coffeen, notes that LOVB’s unique approach to club-to-pro engagement enables SMASH to climb even higher. “From its community driven approach, to its ecosystem of youth to pro players, and its roster of leading clubs around the country… we couldn't be more excited than to work together with LOVB to realize what the future of youth volleyball can be". “LOVB is exactly what we’ve been looking for.”
As we celebrate this major milestone for our League One club ecosystem, we couldn’t be more excited for what this future partnership has in store. Touting two national championship finishes on the girls and boys side and several Ivy League collegiate players, SMASH has been competing at a high level on a national scale for a long time. Welcome to League One Volleyball, SMASH! Let’s get started!
